The MLC Centre, an iconic Sydney skyscraper designed by renowned architect Harry Seidler and completed in 1978, was once the tallest reinforced concrete structure in the world. Over time, elements of its façade had deteriorated, prompting the joint owners, GPT RE Ltd and QIC Ltd, to commission a major restoration to extend its design life by 40 years. Freyssinet was engaged to deliver specialist façade assessment, repair, protection, and maintenance planning, ensuring the building’s structural integrity, durability, and aesthetic appearance are preserved for decades to come.
