Freyssinet successfully completed a complex package of works on the Architectural Roof Feature (ARF) at 126 Phillip Street in Sydney, NSW. The project scope included corrosion repairs, the application of high-performance protective coatings, the installation of architectural lighting, and the design and implementation of a bespoke height access system.

These works were carried out at significant elevations, with the roof level situated at RL 176.00 (Level 37) and the highest point of the structure reaching RL 268.00. This project showcased Freyssinet’s expertise in delivering specialist solutions in challenging, high-access environments.

Freyssinet Scope

  • Scaffold access system installed from RL 176.00 to RL 224.00. All remediation works from RL 224.00 to RL 268.00 completed by Rope Access
  • Temporary Strengthening including install and welding of Bracing on North & South side of the structure, but also stressing of external post tensioning in South East corner from Level 37 to Level 25
  • Repair of corroded steelwork with needle guns then protected with a Zinc coating prior the application of the full coating system
  • 3,100m2 of repairs and reapplication of a protective coating system of 4 layers
  • Design and installation of 290 LED architectural lighting feature
  • Replacement of 1,732 bolts to all connections
  • High Safety profile project due to the location of the works.
