The Victoria Bridge is a bus and pedestrian bridge over the Brisbane River joining the south bank and the CBD, Brisbane. The current bridge, opened in 1969, is the third permanent crossing erected at this location. Freyssinet was engaged by Acciona Construction, a part of a collaborative partnership with Brisbane City Council and Arup, to complete design and construct strengthening works of this bridge to accommodate the modified carriageway layouts, potential shade structure and the urban utilities suspended below bridge in readiness for being used as part of a new Brisbane Metro system.
