Freyssinet was engaged to refurbish the XXXX Castlemaine Brewery trade waste sump, enhancing its corrosion resistance against the acidic byproducts of beer production. As one of Queensland’s most iconic breweries, XXXX Castlemaine has been operating at its Milton site for over a century, playing a key role in the state’s brewing heritage. A key challenge was working within a confined space, with access limited to a single manhole for both personnel and material entry—including formwork—requiring careful planning and execution.
