Twin Arch Bridge launching

The launching of the Twin Arch Bridge is part of the Sydney Gateway Project – NSW Government initiative aimed at enhancing road and freight rail transport to and from Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport and Port Botany. It formed part of an integrated transport network designed to expand capacity and enhance connections to support growth in passenger, freight, and commuter traffic across the region.

Freyssinet Scope

Design, supply, and installation of launching equipment.
Design, supply, and installation of 96 stay hangers.
Design, supply, and installation of temporary and permanent bearings capable of longitudinal and lateral rotation.
Horizontal assembly of arch structures on-site, followed by vertical rotation.
Design of the 76-meter-long launch nose.
Development of a digital engineering innovation using the Blender software to combine visual demonstrations of construction steps with structural analysis and geometric design.
Adapted method of incremental launching – using ultra-low-friction ISOGLIDE sliding pads.
