This landmark infrastructure project has significantly improved traffic flow and connectivity in Adelaide’s north, showcasing innovative engineering and construction delivery.
The South Road Superway is a 4.8 km non-stop corridor in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, SA, including a 2.8 km elevated viaduct structure connecting the Port River Expressway to Regency Road. The viaduct was constructed using the precast balanced cantilever method, incorporating cantilever and continuity post-tensioning tendons. Precast segments were erected using launching gantries, lifting frames, or falsework with mobile cranes.
