Freyssinet was engaged in the construction of two 120,000m³ concrete LNG storage tanks as part of the landmark Pluto LNG project on the Dampier Peninsula for Woodside. This state-of-the-art facility processes natural gas from the Pluto gas field, located approximately 190 km northwest of Karratha in the Carnarvon Basin, Western Australia. The project plays a key role in strengthening Australia’s position in the global LNG market, with Freyssinet delivering critical infrastructure to support long-term energy supply and export.

Freyssinet Scope

  • Design, supply, and installation of post-tensioning (PT) works

  • Installed 1000T of 15.7 strand for 19C15 horizontal tendons

  • All PT works executed using mast climbers supplied by CBI

  • Imported specialised CC500 jacks specifically for this project

  • Custom grout mix developed to meet strict specifications under high-temperature conditions

  • Full grout trial conducted on-site using two 120m tendons

  • Tendons cut post-grouting to verify compliance with best practice

  • All works delivered to stringent Oil & Gas industry standards
