The Low Level Bridge Replacement Program involves replacing seven existing steel bridges on the BHP Newman Main Rail Line with new concrete culvert structures. This initiative ensures the sustainable and safe operation of the railway while accommodating future haul capacity expansion. Due to strict operational requirements, each bridge must be replaced within a 12-hour shutdown window. Freyssinet was responsible for lifting and sliding the old bridges out of alignment and installing the new structures with precise tolerances, enabling subsequent rail works to be completed on schedule.
