REMEDIAL

We have many techniques available to extend the life of ageing structures: strengthening through composite materials including carbon fibre fabric (TFC), shotcrete and additional prestressing; refurbishment through concrete and façade repair, sealing, cathodic protection and realkalisation.  The application of high-performance maintenance extends the durability of structures.

Cathodic Protection and Realkalisation Systems

Austress Freyssinet can provide cathodic protection, cathodic prevention, realkalisation (Regebeton™) and electrochemical remediation systems for a range of structures including reinforced and post-tensioned concrete structures, bridges, wharves, jetties and buried pipelines.

We can design, supply, install, commission and maintain the system, including additional remediation works such as hydrodemolition, shotcreting, and concrete repairs to complete the project.

Carbon Fibre Strengthening - TFC® & LFC®

The TFC® (carbon fibre fabric) and LFC® (carbon fibre laminate) processes are patented systems for structural strengthening by the bonding of carbon fibre based fabrics and laminates. Its applications include bridges and industrial structures made from concrete, steel, timber and masonry.  The carbon fibre materials are light yet a versatile strengthening solution as it is insensitive to corrosion, UV’s freeze-thaw and immersion and comes in various widths.

Additional Prestressing

Additional prestressing consists of adding external forces to modify the stress condition of on existing structure so that it can be restored to its original working capacity or even increase its load bearing capacity.

Structures where this technique can be used include bridges; circular structures such as water towers and silo; and building slabs and beams.  Additional prestressing can be performed using the Freyssinet Strand Post-tensioning or the Freyssibar system..

Facade Repairs & Renovations

Austress Freyssinet can provide a complete solution for the repair of building façades built in a variety of materials with the most common being reinforced concrete and masonry

Shotcrete and Gunite

Shotcreting (wet process) and Guniting (dry process) are widely used techniques of placing concrete by spray through a hose using compressed air.  It is mainly used for the repair and strengthening of structures.

The advantages of this technique are:

·         Fast and flexible operation

·         Perfect bond on prepared surfaces

·         Adjustable application

·         Low shrinkage

Access and Temporary Work Platforms

Austress Freyssinet can, as part of its overall remedial contract, design and supply a range of access systems and temporary works structures for both buildings and major civil engineering structures
