Harbour Bridge Upgrade
This
program of works will be delivered by BridgeWorks Alliance, a team
consisting of the Roads and Traffic Authority, Baulderstone Hornibrook,
Connell Wagner and Austress Freyssinet.
The
program of works has been designed to ensure the longevity of the Sydney
Harbour Bridge. Challenges include: minimising the disruption to the
flow of road, pedestrian, bicycle, rail and harbour traffic; Physically
occupying and working on and below the roadway; Working in and around a
number of planned events around the bridge during the life of the
project; The bridge is a heritage structure and national icon; Managing
the interests of all users currently occupying the bridge.
Works are due for completion December 2009.
