GLASS STRUCTURES

One of the specialist divisions within the diversified activities of Austress Freyssinet is the Glass Structures Division which has developed a particular expertise in the design and construction of unique and complex custom designed, built glass facades, canopies and tensioned cable structures.

The Company has a team of engineers, technicians and site staff with the expertise to design and build a wide range of structures from the highly complex to more conventional structures.  It can provide architects and owners with unique and eye catching structures with an emphasis on lightweight designs and ‘state of the art’ materials and construction techniques.

One of the Company’s most notable projects is the glazed canopy and cable net over the piazza at Aurora Place, Sydney.  Here, Austress Freyssinet delivered the vision of Renzo Piano with the construction of a highly complex glass canopy supported by a tensioned stainless steel cable net.

Since the completion of this highly acclaimed structure Austress Freyssinet has gone on to complete numerous high profile glazed structures across Sydney including the Walsh Bay redevelopment and architectural features of Innovation Place Building in North Sydney
